The Medical Oncologist will provide cancer diagnosis support, chemotherapy planning, oncology OPD care, treatment monitoring, patient counselling, and multidisciplinary cancer care at HCG Oncology, Jaipur. This requires DM or DNB Medical Oncology with 1–2 years of experience.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Consult patients with suspected or confirmed cancer and prepare medical oncology treatment plans.
- Review biopsy reports, staging workup, imaging findings, lab reports, tumor markers, and previous treatment history.
- Plan chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, hormonal therapy, or supportive care as per clinical indication.
- Monitor treatment response, toxicity, side effects, blood counts, infection risk, and patient tolerance.
- Coordinate with surgical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, radiology, nursing, pharmacy, and day care teams.
- Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment plan, side effects, prognosis, and follow-up schedule.
- Maintain oncology consultation notes, chemotherapy orders, consent records, treatment cycles, and follow-up documentation.
- Manage oncology emergencies such as febrile neutropenia, pain crisis, dehydration, and treatment complications.
- Participate in tumor board discussions and multidisciplinary care planning.
- Follow chemotherapy safety, infection control, patient safety, and ethical oncology practice.
- Communicate treatment changes and urgent concerns clearly with the clinical team.
- Deliver compassionate, evidence-based, and patient-centered cancer care.
