The Medical Oncologist will manage oncology OPD, chemotherapy care, cancer treatment planning, patient monitoring, supportive care, and multidisciplinary oncology coordination at HCG Oncology, Ahmedabad. This requires DM or DNB Medical Oncology with 1–2 years of experience.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate cancer patients and guide medical oncology treatment based on diagnosis and disease stage.
- Review pathology, imaging, tumor markers, blood reports, performance status, and previous treatment details.
- Prescribe and supervise chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, hormonal therapy, and supportive medicines.
- Monitor side effects, treatment complications, blood counts, organ function, and therapy response.
- Coordinate with day care chemotherapy unit, oncology nurses, pharmacy, pathology, radiology, surgical oncology, and radiation oncology teams.
- Counsel patients about treatment cycle, expected benefits, possible side effects, precautions, and follow-up visits.
- Maintain treatment plans, chemotherapy protocols, consent forms, prescriptions, and progress records.
- Manage urgent oncology-related complications and refer critical cases when required.
- Participate in tumor board reviews and integrated cancer care planning.
- Follow chemotherapy safety standards, infection prevention, patient privacy, and clinical documentation protocols.
- Support palliative and supportive care needs when indicated.
- Deliver safe, ethical, and patient-focused oncology treatment.
