The Medical Oncologist will provide oncology consultation, chemotherapy planning, cancer treatment monitoring, patient counselling, oncology OPD management, and multidisciplinary cancer care coordination at HCG Oncology, Indore. This requires DM or DNB Medical Oncology with 1–2 years of experience.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Consult patients with cancer and prepare individualized treatment plans as per clinical protocol.
- Review biopsy, histopathology, imaging, staging details, blood reports, tumor markers, and patient condition.
- Plan chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, hormonal therapy, supportive care, and follow-up treatment.
- Monitor treatment response, chemotherapy toxicity, infection risk, organ function, and patient recovery.
- Coordinate with oncology day care, nursing, pharmacy, surgical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, and radiology teams.
- Counsel patients and attendants about diagnosis, treatment schedule, side effects, warning signs, and care instructions.
- Maintain accurate consultation notes, chemotherapy orders, treatment cycle documentation, consent forms, and prescriptions.
- Support management of oncology emergencies and treatment-related complications.
- Participate in tumor board or multidisciplinary case discussions when required.
- Follow oncology safety protocols, infection control, medication safety, and ethical medical practice.
- Maintain patient dignity, privacy, and compassionate communication.
- Deliver timely, evidence-based, and patient-centered medical oncology care.
