Job Description

The Assistant Manager – Patient Safety & Quality will play a key in developing, implementing, and monitoring patient safety programs and quality assurance processes. This requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of healthcare quality standards, and the ability to collaborate with clinical and non-clinical teams to enhance patient outcomes.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor patient safety and quality improvement programs across the hospital.
  • Ensure compliance with national and international accreditation standards (e.g., NABH, JCI).
  • Identify, analyze, and report patient safety incidents, adverse events, and near misses.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Monitor key quality indicators and patient safety metrics to drive improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to clinical protocols and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with clinical departments to implement evidence-based safety practices.
  • Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), policies, and guidelines.
  • Organize training and awareness programs on patient safety and quality standards for staff.
  • Promote a culture of safety, transparency, and continuous improvement across the organization.
  • Coordinate with departments for implementation of infection control and risk management practices.
  • Monitor patient feedback and complaints toentify improvement opportunities.
  • Support accreditation preparation activities, surveys, and documentation requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, audits, and quality reports.
  • Ensure compliance with biomedical waste management and hospital safety regulations.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary quality committees and review meetings.
  • Analyze trends in patient safety data and recommend system improvements.
  • Assist in developing risk management strategies and mitigation plans.
  • Ensure effective communication of safety alerts and guidelines across departments.
  • Support implementation of electronic reporting systems for incidents and quality tracking.
  • Work closely with nursing, medical, and administrative teams for quality initiatives.
  • Stay updated with global best practices in patient safety and healthcare quality.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of clinical and operational processes.
  • Ensure confidentiality and ethical handling of patient safety data.
  • Assist in achieving and maintaining hospital accreditation and compliance goals.
