Emergency Medical Technician

The Emergency Medical Technician will play a vital in delivering timely and effective emergency care by responding to medical emergencies, providing first aid, and assisting in patient transport and stabilization. This requires strong clinical skills, quick decision-making ability, and the capacity to work in high-pressure environments.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Respond promptly to medical emergencies within the hospital and assist emergency medical teams.
• Provide immediate first aid and basic life support (BLS) to critically ill or injured patients.
• Assist in advanced life support (ALS) procedures under the supervision of doctors and nurses.
• Stabilize patients before and during transfer to emergency department or ICU.
• Monitor and record vital signs including pulse, blood pressure, respiration, and oxygen levels.
• Assist in airway management, CPR, and defibrillation during cardiac emergencies.
• Prepare and shift patients safely using stretchers, wheelchairs, or ambulance services.
• Assist doctors and nurses during emergency procedures and trauma care.
• Ensure proper handling and operation of emergency medical equipment.
• Maintain readiness of emergency kits, crash carts, and life-saving supplies.
• Assist in triage of patients based on severity of condition.
• Provide support in trauma, accident, cardiac arrest, and other critical cases.
• Ensure accurate documentation of patient condition, treatment provided, and transfer details.
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of emergency care areas and equipment.
• Follow infection control protocols and safety guidelines strictly.
• Coordinate with emergency department staff for smooth patient management.
• Assist in ambulance services including patient transport and monitoring during transit.
• Report critical changes in patient condition immediately to medical staff.
• Support emergency drills, disaster management, and code response activities.
• Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of emergency equipment.
• Handle patients with empathy, care, and professionalism during emergencies.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.
• Participate in training programs for emergency care and life support skills.
• Work in rotational shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Contribute to improving emergency response efficiency and patient outcomes.
