Pharmacy Trainee

Apollo Hospitals is seeking a Pharmacy Trainee to assist in day-to-day pharmacy operations, including dispensing medicines, managing inventory, and providing patient support. The involves working closely with pharmacists and healthcare professionals to ensure accurate medication handling, maintaining stock availability, and delivering excellent customer service while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Assist pharmacists in dispensing medications as per prescriptions while ensuring accuracy in drug name, dosage, quantity, and expiry
• Coordinate with in-house pharmacies to arrange unavailable medicines and ensure complete prescription fulfillment
• Cross-check medicines with billing details including patient information, batch number, MRP, and expiry before dispensing
• Monitor stock availability, raise indents, and maintain inventory records in the system
• Provide basic patient counseling on medication usage, precautions, and general health awareness
• Handle customer queries, inbound calls, and support home delivery coordination of medicines
• Manage billing activities, including invoice preparation and cash handling when required
• Ensure proper storage of medicines, including maintaining cold chain requirements for temperature-sensitive products
• Verify received stock from stores and update inventory records accurately in the system
• Coordinate stock transfers between branches or distribution centers in case of urgent requirements
• Maintain records of out-of-stock items and follow up for timely replenishment
• Perform regular stock verification, including physical counts and monitoring of fast-moving items
• Ensure proper shift handover and maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy area
• Support sales targets and contribute to efficient pharmacy operations
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the reporting manager
