X-Ray Technician

The X-Ray Technician will be responsible for performing radiographic imaging procedures, preparing patients for scans, maintaining imaging equipment, and ensuring compliance with radiation safety guidelines. The requires technical expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to maintain high-quality diagnostic output while ensuring patient care and safety.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform radiographic imaging (X-rays) for patients as per prescription and billing.
• Receive and assist patients with care, explaining procedures clearly and professionally.
• Ensure patient comfort and cooperation during imaging procedures.
• Handle female patients with appropriate privacy and presence of female staff/family member when required.
• Verify prescription, patient details, and billing accuracy before conducting procedures.
• Check patient preparedness (fasting, LMP status, medical history, etc.) before imaging.
• Ensure proper patient positioning and technique for accurate radiographic results.
• Follow ALARA principle to minimize radiation exposure at all times.
• Operate and manage X-ray equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain and perform routine checks of imaging equipment and report faults.
• Maintain records of imaging procedures and consumables usage.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of films, contrast agents, and other materials.
• Maintain hygiene, cleanliness, and safety standards in the radiology area.
• Assist in routine and specialized radiology procedures as required.
• Support department activities such as dispatch, inventory, and stock management during free time.
• Respond to department calls and provide accurate information to patients and staff.
• Ensure compliance with radiation safety protocols and hospital policies.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of imaging procedures.
• Participate in training and skill development programs regularly.
• Maintain professional behavior, punctuality, and proper grooming standards.
• Ensure ethical use of hospital infrastructure and adherence to institutional guidelines.
