Pharmacy Trainee

Apollo Hospitals is seeking a Pharmacy Trainee to assist in daily pharmacy activities including dispensing medicines, managing inventory, and supporting patient services. The involves working closely with pharmacists to ensure accurate medication handling, maintaining stock availability, and delivering excellent customer service while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Assist pharmacists in dispensing medicines as per prescriptions, ensuring accuracy in drug name, dosage, quantity, and expiry details
• Coordinate with in-house pharmacies to arrange unavailable medicines and ensure complete prescription fulfillment
• Cross-check dispensed medicines with billing details including patient information, batch number, MRP, and expiry
• Monitor stock levels, raise indents, and maintain inventory records in the system
• Provide basic counseling to patients on medication usage, precautions, and general health awareness
• Handle customer queries, inbound calls, and coordinate home delivery of medicines
• Support billing activities including invoice generation and cash handling when required
• Ensure proper storage of medicines, including maintaining cold chain conditions for temperature-sensitive products
• Verify received stock, update inventory in the system, and maintain accurate documentation
• Coordinate stock transfers between branches or distribution centers for urgent requirements
• Maintain records of out-of-stock items and follow up for timely replenishment
• Perform regular stock verification and ensure proper arrangement of pharmacy inventory
• Ensure proper shift handover and maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area
• Support pharmacy sales targets and perform additional tasks as assigned by the reporting manager
