Medical Transcriptionist

The Medical Transcriptionist will play a key in managing patient data, preparing and verifying medical reports, and coordinating with clinical and administrative teams. This requires excellent communication skills, accuracy in documentation, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Handle patient inquiries, explain procedures, and schedule new and follow-up appointments.
• Manage walk-in patients requiring urgent consultation without disrupting scheduled appointments.
• Clearly communicate requirements to new patients for smooth registration and service flow.
• Engage with patients in waiting areas, provide updates, and ensure a comfortable experience.
• Receive and make telephone calls, route calls appropriately, and record accurate messages.
• Maintain effective communication with patients, clinicians, and internal teams.
• Accurately capture and update patient data in hospital systems.
• Prepare, review, and ensure accuracy of medical reports including ultrasound, X-ray, Echo, HSG, and discharge summaries.
• Ensure timely dispatch of all reports with 100% accuracy.
• Maintain registers, logs, and documentation as per organizational and regulatory standards.
• Handle online PNDT applications and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Coordinate with diagnostic and clinical teams for report preparation and verification.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of office and reporting supplies.
• Ensure cost-effective usage of materials and support cost-saving initiatives.
• Maintain high standards of grooming, discipline, and professional conduct.
• Deliver personalized patient service in line with organizational service standards.
• Build strong rapport with clinicians, colleagues, and patients.
• Coordinate with support departments to ensure smooth patient flow and comfort.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information at all times.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and quality standards.
• Participate in audits and quality improvement initiatives.
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
• Support administrative and operational tasks as required.
• Contribute to enhancing patient satisfaction and service excellence.
