Staff Nurse

The Staff Nurse is responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care across various departments, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols, patient safety standards, and hospital policies. Roles and Responsibilities:

• Observe patients for any changes in condition and promptly escalate concerns to the medical team.
• Deliver pre-operative and post-operative nursing care, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Educate patients and their families regarding treatment plans, medication usage, lifestyle modifications, and discharge instructions.
• Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols, hygiene standards, and safety guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of patient care areas and medical equipment.
• Operate and monitor medical equipment such as infusion pumps, monitors, and ventilators where applicable.
• Respond effectively to medical emergencies and assist in life-saving procedures such as CPR and code blue situations.
• Ensure patient safety, dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times.
• Assist in patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes efficiently.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including doctors, physiotherapists, dietitians, and support staff.
• Maintain adequate stock of nursing supplies, medications, and consumables and report shortages promptly.
• Follow hospital policies, clinical protocols, and regulatory requirements consistently.
• Participate actively in quality improvement programs, audits, and accreditation processes.
• Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and their families.
• Supervise and guide junior nursing staff, interns, and nursing assistants when required.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care.
• Work in rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as per duty roster.
