The Senior Registrar GI, Minimal Access & Bariatric Surgery will support laparoscopic surgery, minimal access surgery, bariatric surgery, GI surgery, patient assessment, operative assistance, and post-operative care at Fortis Hospitals, Jaipur. This requires MS or DNB General Surgery with fellowship preferred and 0–5 years of experience.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Attend GI surgery, bariatric surgery, minimal access surgery, OPD, IPD, emergency, and post-operative patients.
- Assist consultants in evaluating surgical history, obesity-related concerns, GI symptoms, reports, and operative fitness.
- Support laparoscopic, minimal access, bariatric, and GI surgical procedures as per clinical responsibility.
- Monitor post-operative patients for pain, wound healing, drain output, bleeding, infection, diet tolerance, and recovery progress.
- Review lab reports, imaging reports, endoscopy findings, operative notes, and clinical progress.
- Coordinate with OT, anaesthesia, ICU, nursing, dietician, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and billing teams.
- Maintain case sheets, consent forms, operative notes, progress notes, procedure records, and discharge summaries.
- Support patient counselling related to surgical preparation, bariatric lifestyle changes, diet, recovery, and follow-up.
- Respond to emergency GI surgical issues and escalate critical cases promptly.
- Follow surgical safety checklist, infection control, patient safety, and documentation protocols.
- Participate in multidisciplinary care for complex GI and bariatric cases.
- Deliver safe, precise, ethical, and patient-centered surgical support.
