Senior Resident General Surgery

The Senior Resident General Surgery will support general surgery patient care, emergency surgical management, operative assistance, post-operative monitoring, consultant coordination, and documentation at Fortis Hospitals, Gurugram, Sector 44. This requires MS or DNB General Surgery qualification with 0–2 years of experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Attend surgical patients in OPD, IPD, emergency, ward, OT, and recovery areas.
• Conduct clinical examination and assist consultants with surgical diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Review investigations, imaging reports, surgical risk factors, and patient fitness before procedures.
• Assist in planned and emergency surgeries under consultant guidance and hospital protocol.
• Monitor post-operative patients for pain, wound status, bleeding, drains, infection, and complications.
• Maintain complete surgical documentation including case sheets, consent forms, operative notes, and discharge summaries.
• Coordinate with anaesthesia, OT, ICU, nursing, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and patient care teams.
• Respond to acute surgical conditions and escalate unstable patients quickly.
• Counsel patients and families under senior guidance regarding procedure preparation and recovery.
• Follow surgical safety checklist, asepsis, infection control, and patient safety practices.
• Support smooth admission, transfer, discharge, and follow-up workflow.
• Deliver reliable, disciplined, and patient-focused surgical care support.
