Attending Consultant - General Surgery

The Attending Consultant General Surgery will manage general surgery patient care, operative planning, surgical procedures, post-operative follow-up, and emergency surgical decision-making at Fortis, Gurugram. This requires MBBS with MS or DNB in General Surgery with 1–5 years of experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Attend surgical OPD, IPD, emergency, and referred patient consultations.
• Evaluate clinical findings and review investigations before planning surgery.
• Support laparoscopic, open, emergency, and minor surgical procedures as per expertise.
• Supervise post-operative care including wound review, drain care, pain control, and mobility advice.
• Coordinate with OT scheduling, anaesthesia clearance, ICU, nursing, diagnostics, and pharmacy.
• Explain treatment options, expected recovery, surgical risk, and follow-up schedule to patients.
• Maintain proper operative notes, consent forms, progress records, and discharge summaries.
• Manage emergency surgical calls with timely escalation and decision-making.
• Participate in clinical audits, surgical safety initiatives, and departmental quality activities.
• Ensure patient-centered, ethical, and safe surgical care.
