Associate Consultant - Nephrology

The Associate Consultant Nephrology will provide renal consultation, CKD and AKI care, dialysis supervision, nephrology referrals, renal emergency management, and patient counselling at Fortis, Bengaluru. This requires MBBS with MD, DNB, DM, or DNB Nephrology preferred with 5–10 years of experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage kidney disease patients in OPD, IPD, ICU, dialysis unit, and emergency areas.
• Review renal function tests, urine reports, electrolytes, ultrasound findings, and dialysis data.
• Plan dialysis schedules, renal medicines, fluid management, and follow-up care.
• Supervise dialysis sessions and handle dialysis-related complications.
• Coordinate with ICU, emergency, dialysis unit, laboratory, pharmacy, nursing, and dietician teams.
• Counsel patients on kidney disease, dialysis, transplant options, diet, medicines, and long-term care.
• Maintain consultation notes, dialysis instructions, prescriptions, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Support quality indicators and infection control in renal care areas.
• Respond promptly to renal emergencies and abnormal lab values.
• Deliver ethical, evidence-based, and compassionate nephrology care.
