Staff Nurse - Ward is responsible for providing experienced ward nursing care, supervising patient monitoring activities, supporting medication safety, maintaining clinical documentation, and coordinating with doctors and multidisciplinary hospital teams. The requires GNM or B.Sc Nursing qualification with 4 to 6 years of experience in ward nursing, patient care, medication administration, nursing documentation, and clinical assistance.
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care to admitted ward patients.
- Monitor patient vital signs, clinical condition, symptoms, and treatment response.
- Administer medicines, injections, IV fluids, dressings, and prescribed treatments safely.
- Assist doctors during rounds, procedures, examinations, and emergency care.
- Maintain accurate nursing notes, medication charts, patient files, and care records.
- Guide junior nursing staff in ward workflow and patient care practices when required.
- Prepare patients for investigations, procedures, transfers, and discharge.
- Coordinate with doctors, pharmacy, lab, radiology, billing, and support departments.
- Report patient deterioration, emergency signs, or clinical concerns immediately.
- Follow infection control, hygiene, biomedical waste, and patient safety protocols.
- Maintain ward supplies, emergency equipment, and nursing station readiness.
- Support admission, transfer, discharge, and patient movement activities.
- Educate patients and attendants about medication, diet, discharge care, and follow-up.
- Ensure proper shift handover with complete patient updates.
- Deliver disciplined, compassionate, and patient-centered ward nursing service.
