Nursing-OT

The OT Nurse will assist surgeons and anaesthesia teams by preparing OT, maintaining sterile field, handling instruments, supporting patient positioning, and ensuring surgical safety. The candidate should follow OT protocols, infection control, and surgical documentation standards.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare OT, sterile instruments, gowns, gloves, sutures, and consumables.
• Assist surgeons by passing instruments during procedures.
• Maintain sterile field and aseptic precautions.
• Support patient shifting, positioning, draping, and pre-operative preparation.
• Perform instrument, sponge, needle, and swab counts.
• Coordinate with OT incharge, surgeons, anaesthesia, CSSD, pharmacy, and support staff.
• Maintain OT registers and surgical checklist documentation.
• Follow infection control, biomedical waste, and OT safety protocols.
• Report missing instruments, contamination, or equipment issues.
• Ensure smooth and safe OT nursing support.
