Job Description

Associate Consultant - Critical Care Medicine is responsible for managing critically ill patients in ICU, supporting advanced life care, ventilator management, emergency stabilization, and multidisciplinary critical care planning. The requires MBBS with MD or DNB qualification and fellowship exposure in Medicine or Anaesthesia with 5 to 10 years of experience. Candidates should have strong expertise in ICU protocols, organ support, patient monitoring, emergency response, and clinical documentation.


Role & Responsibilities

  • Manage critically ill patients admitted in ICU and high-dependency areas.
  • Conduct ICU rounds and prepare patient-specific critical care plans.
  • Monitor ventilator support, oxygen therapy, hemodynamics, fluids, and organ function.
  • Manage sepsis, shock, respiratory failure, renal failure, trauma, and post-operative complications.
  • Review ABG, ECG, imaging, cultures, laboratory reports, and clinical monitoring data.
  • Coordinate with intensivists, surgeons, physicians, anaesthetists, nursing, and diagnostic teams.
  • Guide ICU nurses and junior doctors regarding critical patient monitoring and treatment instructions.
  • Perform or assist in emergency procedures and life-support interventions.
  • Support CPR, code blue, resuscitation, and emergency response activities.
  • Maintain accurate ICU notes, progress records, medication charts, and treatment documentation.
  • Communicate patient condition and treatment updates to relatives professionally.
  • Ensure infection control, antimicrobial stewardship, and ICU patient safety standards.
  • Monitor patient response and modify treatment plans as per clinical need.
  • Participate in ICU audits, case discussions, and quality improvement programs.
  • Deliver evidence-based, timely, and compassionate critical care services.
