Job Description

Clinical Assistant - Vascular Surgery is responsible for supporting vascular surgeons in OPD, IPD, surgical care, patient assessment, documentation, and perioperative coordination. The requires MBBS with MD or DNB qualification and 0 to 5 years of experience. Candidates should have knowledge of general surgery, vascular surgery basics, patient monitoring, surgical documentation, and multidisciplinary hospital workflow.


Role & Responsibilities

  • Assist vascular surgeons during OPD, IPD, ward rounds, and clinical reviews.
  • Take patient history and support clinical assessment of vascular conditions.
  • Monitor patients with peripheral vascular disease, diabetic foot, venous disease, and vascular trauma.
  • Review investigation reports, Doppler findings, imaging, laboratory reports, and clinical notes.
  • Support pre-operative preparation and post-operative care of vascular surgery patients.
  • Coordinate with OT, ICU, anaesthesia, nursing, radiology, lab, and wound care teams.
  • Maintain patient case sheets, prescriptions, progress notes, and discharge documentation.
  • Assist in dressing, wound assessment, procedure support, and bedside care under supervision.
  • Identify patient deterioration or vascular complications and escalate promptly.
  • Support admission, transfer, referral, and discharge coordination.
  • Explain basic treatment instructions and follow-up care to patients under doctor guidance.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient records and clinical information.
  • Follow infection control, surgical safety, and hospital clinical protocols.
  • Participate in case discussions, audits, and clinical learning activities.
  • Provide organized, accurate, and patient-friendly vascular surgery support.
