Emergency Physician

The Emergency Physician is responsible for providing immediate medical care to patients with acute illness, injury, trauma, and life-threatening emergencies. The requires rapid assessment, stabilization, resuscitation, clinical decision-making, and coordination with specialists for further treatment. The physician will ensure timely emergency care, safe patient handover, accurate documentation, and adherence to hospital emergency protocols.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Assess and stabilize patients presenting with emergency medical conditions.
• Manage trauma, cardiac emergencies, respiratory distress, seizures, shock, poisoning, and acute infections.
• Perform primary survey, triage, emergency diagnosis, and immediate treatment planning.
• Provide basic and advanced life support as per clinical requirement.
• Coordinate with consultants, ICU, surgery, radiology, laboratory, and nursing teams.
• Initiate emergency investigations and interpret urgent reports.
• Perform emergency procedures within clinical competency and hospital protocols.
• Ensure timely referral, admission, discharge, or transfer decisions.
• Maintain accurate emergency records, medication charts, and handover notes.
• Communicate patient condition and treatment plans clearly to families.
• Monitor critically ill patients until transfer to ICU or relevant department.
• Follow infection control, patient safety, and emergency response protocols.
• Participate in emergency drills, audits, and quality improvement activities.
