Consultant - Paediatrics and Neonatology

The Consultant - Paediatrics and Neonatology is responsible for providing specialized medical care to newborns, infants, children, and adolescents. The includes OPD consultations, inpatient paediatric care, neonatal assessment, emergency management, immunization guidance, and NICU support. The consultant will ensure compassionate child-centered care while working closely with nursing, obstetrics, ICU, and emergency teams.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and treat medical conditions in newborns, infants, children, and adolescents.
• Conduct paediatric OPD consultations, inpatient rounds, and emergency assessments.
• Manage neonatal conditions including prematurity, respiratory distress, jaundice, sepsis, and feeding issues.
• Provide NICU support and monitor critically ill newborns when required.
• Prescribe age-appropriate medications, investigations, and treatment plans.
• Guide parents on immunization, nutrition, growth monitoring, and preventive care.
• Coordinate with obstetrics, emergency, nursing, and intensive care teams.
• Respond promptly to paediatric and neonatal emergencies.
• Monitor growth, development, recovery, and treatment outcomes.
• Maintain accurate clinical notes, prescriptions, vaccination records, and discharge summaries.
• Counsel parents and families with empathy and clear communication.
