Senior Technician-Dialysis

The Senior Dialysis Technician will play a key in delivering safe and effective dialysis treatment to patients with renal failure. This requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to support nephrologists and nursing teams in a critical care environment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor hemodialysis machines and related equipment during dialysis procedures.
• Prepare patients for dialysis treatment including assessment of vital signs and vascular access.
• Ensure proper cannulation of AV fistula, grafts, or catheters under aseptic conditions.
• Monitor patients continuously during dialysis for any complications or adverse reactions.
• Adjust machine settings as per physician instructions and patient requirements.
• Respond promptly to dialysis-related emergencies such as hypotension, cramps, or complications.
• Maintain strict infection control practices and ensure sterile environment in dialysis unit.
• Prepare dialysis machines before and after procedures including cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance.
• Maintain accurate records of dialysis parameters, patient condition, and treatment details.
• Coordinate with nephrologists and nursing staff for patient care planning and follow-up.
• Ensure proper functioning and regular maintenance of dialysis equipment.
• Monitor water treatment systems and ensure quality standards are met.
• Manage inventory of dialysis consumables, medications, and supplies.
• Educate patients and families regarding dialysis procedure and post-care instructions.
• Assist in patient admission, scheduling, and dialysis session planning.
• Handle emergency situations in dialysis unit effectively and efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines.
• Participate in quality assurance programs and audits related to dialysis care.
• Support junior technicians and staff in training and supervision.
• Maintain biomedical waste segregation and disposal as per guidelines.
• Ensure proper documentation and reporting of all dialysis procedures.
• Work in rotational shifts, including emergency and on-call duties.
