Associate Consultant - ICU Job in Thane at KIMS Hospital

Job Description

The Associate Consultant - ICU will be responsible for managing critically ill patients, ICU rounds, ventilator care, emergency stabilization, multidisciplinary coordination, and critical care documentation at KIMS Hospitals, Thane. This requires MBBS with MD / DNB in Internal Medicine or Anaesthesia, along with DM Critical Care or IDCCM qualification and minimum 2 years of ICU / critical care experience.


Roles & Responsibilities

  • Manage critically ill patients in ICU, emergency, and high-dependency areas.
  • Conduct ICU rounds and plan treatment for sepsis, shock, respiratory failure, trauma, and multi-organ dysfunction.
  • Monitor vitals, ventilator settings, ABG, lab reports, fluids, vasopressors, and organ support.
  • Coordinate with consultants, nursing, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, and emergency teams.
  • Support airway management, invasive monitoring, central line care, and emergency procedures where applicable.
  • Respond to code blue, rapid response calls, and ICU emergencies promptly.
  • Counsel patients relatives regarding condition, treatment plan, prognosis, and ICU care updates.
  • Maintain ICU notes, progress records, procedure notes, prescriptions, and discharge summaries.
  • Follow infection control, antibiotic stewardship, patient safety, and ICU protocols.
  • Guide duty doctors, residents, and ICU staff in critical care practices.
  • Participate in audits, mortality reviews, clinical discussions, and quality improvement activities.
  • Deliver safe, timely, and evidence-based intensive care services.
