The OT Technician will be responsible for operation theatre preparation, surgical equipment handling, instrument arrangement, sterile support, patient shifting assistance, and OT documentation at HCG Hospitals, Rajkot. This requires OT Technician Course qualification with 2–3 years of experience in operation theatre support. The candidate should understand sterile practices, surgical workflow, infection control, and OT safety standards.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare operation theatre room, surgical instruments, equipment, linen, and consumables before procedures.
- Check OT lights, suction, cautery, monitors, oxygen, anesthesia support items, and emergency equipment.
- Assist surgeons, anesthetists, OT nurses, and clinical staff during surgical procedures.
- Support patient shifting, positioning, draping, and OT readiness activities.
- Maintain sterile field, aseptic technique, and infection control practices during procedures.
- Coordinate with CSSD, nursing, biomedical, housekeeping, stores, and pathology teams.
- Clean, arrange, and prepare OT after each procedure as per hospital protocol.
- Maintain OT logs, material usage records, equipment checklists, and procedure support documentation.
- Report equipment malfunction, instrument shortage, or consumable requirement to seniors.
- Follow biomedical waste, PPE, hand hygiene, and patient safety standards.
- Support emergency OT readiness and urgent surgical case preparation.
- Maintain patient privacy, dignity, and safe OT workflow.
- Ensure smooth, safe, and sterile surgical support services.
