The OT Technician will be responsible for preparing the operation theatre, handling surgical instruments, and assisting during procedures while ensuring strict adherence to sterilization and safety protocols. Roles and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and set up the operation theatre for surgical procedures.
- Sterilize and arrange surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and nursing staff during operations.
- Ensure strict adherence to aseptic and infection control protocols.
- Check functionality and readiness of OT equipment before procedures.
- Assist in patient preparation and positioning for surgery.
- Maintain accurate records of instruments, procedures, and OT usage.
- Ensure proper counting of surgical instruments before and after procedures.
- Manage post-operative cleaning and preparation of OT for subsequent cases.
- Coordinate with CSSD for sterilization and availability of instruments.
- Handle biomedical waste disposal as per safety guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the operation theatre.
- Assist in emergency and critical surgical procedures.
- Support anesthesia team with equipment setup when required.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and regulatory standards.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of OT supplies and equipment.
- Participate in quality checks and internal audits.
- Work in rotational shifts including nights, weekends, and on-call duties.
- Communicate effectively with surgical teams and support staff.
- Follow all safety protocols and use appropriate PPE.
