The Dietician will be responsible for patient diet planning, nutritional assessment, therapeutic diet counselling, oncology nutrition support, inpatient diet coordination, and diet chart monitoring at HCG Hospitals, Rajkot. This requires B.Sc or M.Sc qualification with 1–2 years of experience in dietetics, nutrition, or hospital dietary services. The candidate should have strong knowledge of clinical nutrition, patient counselling, and hospital food service coordination.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patient nutritional status based on diagnosis, age, clinical condition, and doctor advice.
- Prepare diet plans for admitted patients, OPD patients, and special clinical cases.
- Provide therapeutic diet counselling for diabetes, hypertension, kidney disease, cancer care, and post-surgery recovery.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, food service team, and patient care staff for diet implementation.
- Monitor patient diet intake, tolerance, nutritional progress, and required modifications.
- Prepare diet charts, calorie plans, feeding schedules, and nutrition counselling notes.
- Educate patients and relatives on diet restrictions, nutrition support, and follow-up care.
- Support oncology nutrition needs including appetite issues, weight loss, and treatment-related nutrition concerns.
- Ensure patient meals are served as per prescribed diet and hospital standards.
- Maintain diet records, patient counselling documentation, and daily diet reports.
- Follow food hygiene, infection control, and patient safety standards.
- Coordinate with kitchen team for special meals and diet modifications.
- Support compassionate and evidence-based nutrition care.
