Consultant - Internal Medicine

The Consultant - Internal Medicine will provide medical consultation, diagnosis, treatment planning, inpatient and outpatient care, chronic disease management, emergency medical support, and clinical coordination at HCG Hospitals, Rajkot. This requires MD or DNB Internal Medicine qualification with 1–2 years of experience in internal medicine and patient care.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Examine OPD, IPD, emergency, and referred patients with medical complaints.
• Take detailed clinical history, perform physical examination, and prepare diagnosis and treatment plans.
• Manage acute and chronic medical conditions such as fever, diabetes, hypertension, infections, respiratory illness, cardiac risk, and metabolic disorders.
• Review laboratory reports, imaging results, vitals, medication response, and patient progress.
• Coordinate with oncology, surgery, ICU, emergency, nursing, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and patient care teams.
• Provide medical fitness, pre-operative medical evaluation, and co-management support for admitted patients.
• Monitor inpatients during rounds and guide treatment modifications as per clinical condition.
• Counsel patients and attendants regarding diagnosis, medicines, lifestyle advice, investigations, and follow-up care.
• Maintain accurate consultation notes, prescriptions, progress notes, discharge advice, and medical documentation.
• Respond to medical emergencies and escalate critical cases when required.
• Follow hospital clinical protocols, infection control, patient safety, and ethical medical practice.
• Deliver safe, timely, and patient-centered internal medicine care.
