MRD Technician

The MRD Technician will be responsible for maintaining, organizing, retrieving, and safeguarding patient medical records in the hospital. This requires knowledge of medical records management, file indexing, documentation checking, confidentiality, discharge file handling, and hospital reporting. The candidate will coordinate with doctors, nurses, billing, insurance, and administration teams to ensure accurate, complete, and easily accessible medical records.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Collect, arrange, and maintain inpatient and outpatient medical records properly.
• Check patient files for completeness, signatures, reports, consent forms, and discharge documents.
• Index, file, scan, archive, and retrieve medical records as per hospital policy.
• Maintain confidentiality and controlled access of patient records at all times.
• Coordinate with doctors, nurses, billing, insurance, and administration for missing documents.
• Maintain MRD registers, file movement records, discharge file records, and document trackers.
• Retrieve medical records for audits, insurance, legal, clinical, or administrative requirements.
• Support preparation of medical record summaries, statistics, and department reports.
• Ensure proper storage, labeling, numbering, and preservation of patient files.
• Handle medico-legal records carefully as per hospital and legal guidelines.
• Maintain digital and physical records with accuracy and traceability.
• Follow hospital SOPs, confidentiality standards, and documentation policies.
• Report incomplete files, missing records, or documentation gaps to seniors.
• Support audits and quality checks related to medical records.
• Ensure timely availability of records whenever required by authorized teams.
