CTVS ICU Nurse

The CTVS ICU Nurse will be responsible for providing specialized nursing care to post-cardiac surgery and critically ill cardiovascular patients in the CTVS ICU. This requires knowledge of cardiac monitoring, ventilator support, hemodynamic observation, medication administration, emergency response, and infection control. The candidate will coordinate with cardiac surgeons, intensivists, anesthetists, and nursing teams to ensure safe and high-quality critical care.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide bedside nursing care to patients admitted in the CTVS ICU.
• Monitor vital signs, ECG rhythm, oxygen saturation, intake-output, and hemodynamic status.
• Assist in post-operative care of cardiac surgery and thoracic surgery patients.
• Administer medicines, IV fluids, blood products, and cardiac drugs as prescribed.
• Monitor ventilator support, oxygen therapy, chest drains, central lines, and arterial lines.
• Identify changes in patient condition and report abnormalities immediately to doctors.
• Assist doctors during rounds, procedures, emergency care, and critical interventions.
• Maintain nursing notes, medication charts, ICU flow sheets, and handover records.
• Follow strict infection control, hand hygiene, biomedical waste, and patient safety protocols.
• Support emergency response, CPR, code blue, and rapid stabilization when required.
• Prepare patients for investigations, procedures, shifting, and discharge from ICU.
• Educate patients and relatives about post-operative care under senior guidance.
• Maintain equipment readiness, emergency trolley, monitors, and ICU supplies.
• Coordinate with cardiac surgery, anesthesia, ICU, pharmacy, and diagnostic teams.
• Deliver compassionate, alert, and disciplined nursing care in critical situations.
