Junior Scientific Officer

The Junior Scientific Officer will assist in diagnostic laboratory testing, sample processing, record maintenance, and quality control activities. This requires B.Sc or M.Sc qualification, basic technical knowledge, and attention to detail. The candidate will support accurate reporting workflow and safe laboratory operations.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Process samples and perform routine tests under supervision.
• Verify patient details, sample type, and test requisition before testing.
• Operate laboratory instruments as per SOP and senior guidance.
• Maintain sample records, worksheets, QC entries, and equipment logs.
• Prepare reagents, controls, and testing materials when required.
• Follow laboratory safety, GLP, PPE, and infection control practices.
• Report abnormal observations, sample issues, or instrument errors promptly.
• Support timely processing of routine and urgent samples.
• Coordinate with accessioning and reporting teams for workflow.
• Maintain discipline, cleanliness, and organization in the lab.
• Support audit preparation and quality documentation.
• Contribute to accurate and reliable laboratory services.
