Job Description
Staff Nurse is responsible for providing quality nursing care to patients, assisting doctors during medical procedures, and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout treatment and recovery. The involves monitoring patient conditions, administering medications, maintaining clinical documentation, and coordinating with healthcare teams for effective patient management.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to patients as per prescribed treatment plans and hospital protocols.
- Monitor patient vital signs, symptoms, and clinical conditions regularly.
- Administer medications, injections, IV fluids, and treatments accurately as prescribed.
- Assist doctors during examinations, procedures, surgeries, and emergency situations.
- Maintain accurate patient records, nursing notes, and treatment documentation.
- Ensure patient comfort, hygiene, safety, and emotional support during hospitalization.
- Follow infection control practices and maintain cleanliness within patient care areas.
- Assist in patient admission, discharge, and transfer procedures.
- Coordinate with doctors, nursing supervisors, and healthcare teams for smooth patient care management.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and provide immediate nursing assistance when required.
- Educate patients and family members regarding treatment plans, medications, and post-care instructions.
- Ensure proper handling and maintenance of medical equipment and nursing supplies.
- Monitor inventory of nursing materials and report shortages when necessary.
- Participate in shift handovers, ward rounds, and departmental meetings.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, NABH standards, and patient safety guidelines.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and medical records.
- Support quality improvement activities, audits, and nursing care initiatives.
- Provide compassionate, ethical, and patient-centered nursing care at all times.
- Maintain professionalism, discipline, and effective communication with patients and healthcare teams.
- Perform additional nursing and patient care responsibilities assigned by supervisors or management.
