Resident Internal Medicine

The Resident Internal Medicine will support patient assessment, internal medicine care, emergency response, consultant rounds, treatment monitoring, and clinical documentation at Fortis, Chennai. This requires MBBS with MD, DNB, or Diploma in Internal Medicine preferred with 0–3 years of experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Attend OPD, IPD, emergency, ward, ICU, and assigned internal medicine patients.
• Take patient history, perform clinical examination, and support diagnosis under consultant guidance.
• Assist consultants during rounds, procedures, admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Monitor patient vitals, investigation reports, medication response, symptoms, and clinical progress.
• Review lab reports, imaging reports, and urgent clinical findings and inform seniors when required.
• Coordinate with nursing, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, ICU, OT, billing, and administration teams.
• Respond to medical emergencies and support patient stabilization.
• Maintain case sheets, progress notes, prescriptions, discharge summaries, and handover records.
• Counsel patients and attendants under consultant guidance regarding treatment and follow-up care.
• Follow hospital clinical protocols, infection control, patient safety, and documentation standards.
• Deliver safe, timely, ethical, and professional internal medicine support.
