Associate Consultant Nephrology

The Associate Consultant Nephrology will provide kidney disease consultation, dialysis planning, renal emergency support, CKD management, inpatient nephrology care, and patient counselling at Fortis, Chennai. This requires MBBS with MD, DNB, DM, or DNB Nephrology preferred with 5–10 years of experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Consult patients with CKD, AKI, renal failure, electrolyte imbalance, hypertension, and urinary abnormalities.
• Plan dialysis, renal replacement therapy, medication management, and follow-up care.
• Supervise hemodialysis cases and manage dialysis-related complications.
• Review kidney function tests, electrolytes, urine reports, ultrasound findings, and dialysis records.
• Coordinate with dialysis unit, ICU, emergency, laboratory, pharmacy, nursing, and dietician teams.
• Counsel patients regarding kidney disease, dialysis schedule, medicines, diet, and lifestyle.
• Manage renal emergencies such as fluid overload, hyperkalemia, and acute renal deterioration.
• Maintain nephrology consultation notes, dialysis advice, prescriptions, and discharge plans.
• Ensure infection control and patient safety in dialysis-related care.
• Deliver ethical, evidence-based, and patient-centered kidney care.
