The Attending Consultant Anaesthesiology will provide anaesthesia care, pre-operative assessment, intra-operative monitoring, critical care support, emergency medicine assistance, and perioperative patient safety at Fortis, Chennai. This requires MBBS with MD or DNB in Anaesthesiology with 3–8 years of experience.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-anaesthesia check-up and assess surgical fitness.
- Plan suitable anaesthesia technique based on patient condition, surgery type, and risk factors.
- Administer general, regional, spinal, epidural, or local anaesthesia as per clinical requirement.
- Monitor patients during procedures including airway, vitals, oxygenation, fluids, and recovery status.
- Coordinate with surgeons, OT nurses, anaesthesia technicians, ICU, emergency, pharmacy, and nursing teams.
- Manage airway emergencies, resuscitation, pain relief, and post-operative monitoring.
- Support critical care, intensive care, and emergency medicine cases when required.
- Maintain anaesthesia records, consent forms, PAC notes, and procedure documentation.
- Follow infection control, patient safety, OT safety, and hospital clinical protocols.
- Deliver safe, ethical, and patient-centered anaesthesia services.
