Attending Consultant - Emergency

The Attending Consultant Emergency will manage emergency medicine services, trauma response, acute stabilization, critical care coordination, and emergency department workflow at Fortis, Chennai. This requires MBBS with MD, DNB, Diploma in Emergency Medicine, or relevant specialty with 3–8 years of experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead emergency assessment, triage, stabilization, and immediate treatment planning.
• Manage trauma, cardiac emergency, respiratory distress, stroke alerts, poisoning, and acute abdomen cases.
• Supervise emergency doctors, nurses, technicians, and ambulance handover process.
• Perform or guide CPR, airway management, suturing, dressing, splinting, and emergency procedures.
• Coordinate rapid investigations, imaging, ICU transfer, OT activation, and specialist referral.
• Maintain emergency department documentation, consent records, medico-legal notes, and handover.
• Communicate critical updates to patients families with empathy and clarity.
• Ensure emergency trolley, crash cart, medication, and resuscitation readiness.
• Follow ACLS, BLS, trauma care, infection control, and patient safety protocols.
• Improve emergency response time, clinical coordination, and patient flow.
