OT Staff

We are seeking an experienced female OT Staff Nurse to support Operation Theatre procedures at Usthi Hospital, IRC Village, Bhubaneswar. The candidate should have 2–3 years of experience in OT nursing, surgical assistance, patient preparation, instrument handling, and post-operative coordination. This requires clinical awareness, discipline, teamwork, and the ability to support surgeons and anesthetists during surgical procedures.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and senior nursing staff during surgical and OT procedures.
• Prepare the operation theatre before surgery by arranging instruments, equipment, linen, and required materials.
• Ensure proper patient preparation including identification, consent confirmation, positioning, and pre-operative checks.
• Maintain strict aseptic techniques and infection control practices inside the operation theatre.
• Support scrub and circulating nurse duties as per surgical procedure requirements.
• Check availability and functionality of OT equipment, suction, lights, monitors, and emergency support items.
• Assist in handling surgical instruments, sterile supplies, and consumables during procedures.
• Monitor patient condition before, during, and immediately after surgical procedures as directed.
• Coordinate with recovery room, ward, ICU, and nursing teams for safe patient transfer after surgery.
• Maintain OT records, surgical checklists, procedure notes, and consumable usage documentation.
• Ensure proper cleaning, sterilization support, and OT readiness between surgical cases.
• Follow hospital protocols for biomedical waste management, infection prevention, and patient safety.
• Assist in maintaining emergency medicines, crash cart items, and OT procedure trays.
• Communicate effectively with doctors, nursing supervisors, patients, and attendants when required.
• Maintain professional discipline, confidentiality, and compassionate patient care throughout OT services.
