Ambulance Driver

Usthi Hospital is looking for an experienced Ambulance Driver for its Ambulance and Transport department at IRC Village, Bhubaneswar. The candidate should have 2–3 years of driving experience with a valid driving license and knowledge of safe patient transportation. This requires responsible driving, emergency response readiness, vehicle maintenance awareness, and the ability to coordinate respectfully with patients, attendants, and hospital staff.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Drive the hospital ambulance safely for patient pickup, transfer, emergency transport, and discharge support.
• Ensure timely response during emergency calls and patient transport requirements.
• Follow traffic rules, hospital safety standards, and emergency driving protocols at all times.
• Assist patients, attendants, and hospital staff during ambulance boarding and transfer when required.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and readiness of the ambulance before and after every trip.
• Check vehicle fuel, oil, brakes, tires, lights, siren, oxygen support area, and basic equipment regularly.
• Coordinate with emergency staff, nurses, doctors, and reception for patient pickup and drop details.
• Maintain trip records including patient details, destination, timing, distance, and transport purpose.
• Ensure ambulance documents, insurance, fitness certificate, pollution certificate, and license details remain updated.
• Report vehicle issues, breakdowns, or maintenance needs immediately to the concerned authority.
• Support safe transfer of patients between hospital, home, diagnostic centers, and other healthcare facilities.
• Maintain calm and professional behavior during emergency situations and patient-sensitive cases.
• Keep ambulance equipment and internal space organized for quick access during transport.
• Follow infection control guidelines and support cleaning after transporting infectious or critical patients.
• Maintain confidentiality and respectful conduct while handling patient-related transport duties.
