Job Description
We are hiring an OT Attendant for Usthi Hospitals Operation Theatre department at IRC Village, Bhubaneswar. The candidate should have 2–3 years of experience in hospital support services, patient shifting, OT cleaning assistance, and basic clinical area coordination. This position requires discipline, alertness, teamwork, and the ability to follow instructions carefully while supporting safe and hygienic OT operations.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Support Operation Theatre staff in daily OT preparation, cleaning, and patient movement activities.
- Assist in transferring patients safely to and from the OT, recovery room, ward, ICU, or emergency area.
- Help arrange surgical support items such as linen, trays, trolleys, stretchers, and basic OT supplies.
- Maintain hygiene and cleanliness in OT areas, changing rooms, corridors, and support zones.
- Follow infection control, hand hygiene, and biomedical waste disposal guidelines strictly.
- Assist nurses and technicians in preparing the OT room before each procedure under supervision.
- Clean and organize stretchers, wheelchairs, patient transfer equipment, and basic OT furniture.
- Carry medicines, samples, reports, documents, or supplies between OT and hospital departments as instructed.
- Help maintain patient privacy, comfort, and safety during shifting and positioning support.
- Inform senior staff immediately about spills, equipment issues, shortage of supplies, or cleaning requirements.
- Avoid unnecessary movement and maintain discipline inside restricted OT areas.
- Support post-procedure cleaning, waste segregation, and preparation for the next surgical case.
- Follow hospital duty schedules, dress code, safety rules, and reporting instructions properly.
- Cooperate with doctors, nurses, technicians, housekeeping, and ward staff for smooth OT workflow.
- Provide dependable support to ensure timely, safe, and organized Operation Theatre services.
