The Senior Pharmacist will supervise pharmacy operations, prescription verification, medicine dispensing, stock control, expiry monitoring, patient medication counselling, inventory documentation, and pharmacy staff coordination at Gleneagles BGS Hospital, Bengaluru. This requires D.Pharm or B.Pharm qualification with 5–8 years of pharmacy experience.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Supervise daily pharmacy counter and dispensing activities.
- Verify prescriptions, medicine name, dose, quantity, expiry date, and billing details.
- Dispense medicines safely as per doctor prescription and pharmacy policy.
- Guide patients on medicine usage, dosage timing, storage, and precautions.
- Monitor stock levels, expiry, near-expiry, shortages, high-alert medicines, and reorder needs.
- Maintain pharmacy records, purchase entries, issue records, inventory data, and documentation.
- Guide junior pharmacy staff on safe dispensing, stock handling, and documentation.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, billing, purchase, stores, and pharmacy in-charge.
- Support stock audits, physical verification, and inventory reconciliation.
- Follow pharmacy regulations, hospital SOPs, and medication safety standards.
- Report expired, damaged, shortage, or non-moving stock to seniors promptly.
- Ensure safe, compliant, and patient-friendly pharmacy services.
