The Biomedical Engineer will be responsible for biomedical equipment maintenance, preventive maintenance, breakdown coordination, calibration support, equipment documentation, vendor follow-up, and clinical department support at Gleneagles BGS Hospital, Bengaluru. This requires DME or BME qualification with 3–5 years of experience.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Maintain biomedical equipment used in ICU, OT, emergency, wards, diagnostics, and clinical departments.
- Perform preventive maintenance and breakdown coordination for medical equipment.
- Coordinate calibration, validation, safety checks, and equipment performance monitoring.
- Respond to equipment complaints from clinical departments promptly.
- Maintain equipment inventory, PM schedules, calibration records, service reports, and AMC/CMC files.
- Coordinate with vendors, service engineers, nursing, doctors, OT, ICU, and purchase teams.
- Ensure critical equipment readiness for patient care areas.
- Report repeated breakdowns, spare requirements, and safety concerns to seniors.
- Support installation, testing, and user training for new equipment.
- Follow biomedical safety, electrical safety, infection control, and hospital SOPs.
- Support audits, accreditation documentation, and compliance records.
- Ensure safe, functional, and reliable biomedical equipment support.
