Pharmacist

The Pharmacist will play a key in medication management by reviewing prescriptions, dispensing drugs, and providing patient counseling. This requires strong knowledge of pharmacology, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient safety and service excellence.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Review and validate prescriptions for accuracy, dosage, contraindications, and potential drug interactions.
• Dispense medications to inpatients and outpatients as per physician prescriptions.
• Provide clear instructions and counseling to patients regarding medication usage, dosage, side effects, and precautions.
• Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and storage of medications.
• Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, dispensing activities, and billing transactions.
• Monitor and manage inventory of medicines, consumables, and pharmacy supplies.
• Ensure availability of essential, emergency, and life-saving drugs at all times.
• Track expiry dates and ensure timely removal and disposal of expired or near-expiry medicines.
• Coordinate with doctors and nursing staff for prescription clarifications and medication requirements.
• Handle procurement, receipt, and stocking of pharmaceutical products.
• Maintain compliance with drug control regulations, hospital policies, and accreditation standards.
• Ensure proper storage conditions including temperature and humidity control.
• Participate in medication audits, quality assurance programs, and inspections.
• Report and document adverse drug reactions (ADR) and medication errors.
• Handle controlled substances and narcotics as per legal and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure confidentiality of patient prescriptions and medical information.
• Support implementation of hospital formulary and medication safety protocols.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for timely procurement and supply management.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy area.
• Assist in 24/7 pharmacy operations, including shift duties when required.

• Provide support during emergencies and critical care medication requirements.
