Lab Technician Hematology

The Lab Technician (Hematology) will support hematology sample processing, diagnostic testing, laboratory documentation, quality control, equipment handling, and report coordination at GCS Hospital, Ahmedabad. This requires B.Sc with MLT or DMLT qualification with 1–2 years of experience in hematology or laboratory operations.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Collect, receive, label, and process hematology samples as per laboratory SOPs.
• Perform routine hematology tests such as CBC, ESR, blood smear preparation, and related investigations.
• Verify patient details, sample type, and test requests before processing.
• Maintain test records, sample registers, worksheets, equipment logs, and documentation.
• Operate hematology analyzers and laboratory equipment under approved procedures.
• Support internal quality control, calibration checks, and equipment maintenance activities.
• Report critical values, abnormal findings, sample rejection, or technical issues to seniors promptly.
• Coordinate with doctors, nursing, sample collection, reporting, and front office teams.
• Follow biosafety, infection control, PPE, and biomedical waste management standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and discipline in the hematology laboratory area.
• Ensure proper sample storage, transport, and disposal.
• Support accurate, reliable, and timely hematology diagnostic services.
