Junior Lab Technician

The Junior Lab Technician will support routine laboratory operations, including sample handling, test preparation, analyzer support, documentation, and quality control activities under senior supervision. This requires Diploma qualification, 1–2 years of experience, basic laboratory knowledge, and disciplined sample handling. The candidate will assist in timely and accurate diagnostic testing while following laboratory safety and quality standards.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist in receiving, labeling, sorting, and processing laboratory samples.
• Support routine testing activities in hematology, biochemistry, clinical pathology, and related areas.
• Operate basic laboratory equipment under supervision and as per SOPs.
• Verify patient details, sample labels, and test requisitions before processing.
• Prepare slides, reagents, controls, tubes, and testing materials when required.
• Maintain sample registers, worksheets, QC entries, and documentation records.
• Follow PPE, infection control, biosafety, and biomedical waste disposal protocols.
• Report sample mismatch, insufficient sample, hemolysis, or equipment issues to seniors.
• Assist senior technicians in analyzer operation, calibration support, and maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with accessioning, reporting, nursing, and laboratory teams when needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper arrangement of laboratory benches and work areas.
• Support urgent sample workflow and timely test processing.
• Participate in training, quality checks, and laboratory process improvement activities.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and test results.
• Provide accurate, disciplined, and dependable laboratory support.
