CSSD Technician

The CSSD Technician will support cleaning, packing, sterilization, storage, and dispatch of surgical instruments and sterile supplies at GCS Hospital, Ahmedabad. This requires any graduate qualification with CSSD Technician Course and 1–2 years of experience in CSSD workflow, sterile processing, and hospital infection control support.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Receive, clean, disinfect, pack, sterilize, and dispatch surgical instruments.
• Prepare sterile sets, linen packs, trays, and procedure materials as per OT requirement.
• Operate autoclave and sterilization equipment as per hospital SOP.
• Maintain sterilization logs, autoclave records, biological indicators, and CSSD documentation.
• Coordinate with OT, ICU, wards, nursing, and infection control teams.
• Check instrument condition, count, labeling, and traceability before dispatch.
• Follow infection control, PPE, biomedical waste, and sterile handling protocols.
• Ensure proper storage and issue of sterile items to user departments.
• Report damaged instruments, shortage, equipment issues, or sterilization concerns promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness, discipline, and safety in the CSSD area.
• Support audit readiness and CSSD quality documentation.
• Ensure timely, safe, and accurate sterile supply support.
