Job Description
The Resident Medical Officer (RMO) will be responsible for assessing patients, managing treatment plans, and handling both routine and emergency medical cases under the guidance of senior consultants. The requires strong clinical knowledge, quick decision-making skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide round-the-clock medical care to inpatients and outpatients.
- Conduct patient assessments, history taking, and clinical examinations.
- Diagnose and manage a variety of medical conditions under supervision.
- Attend ward rounds with consultants and implement treatment plans.
- Monitor patient progress and update treatment plans accordingly.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide immediate care.
- Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests as per protocols.
- Interpret lab reports, imaging results, and clinical findings.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records.
- Ensure proper shift handovers for continuity of patient care.
- Assist in clinical procedures and minor interventions.
- Coordinate with nursing staff and other departments for patient care.
- Escalate critical cases to senior doctors in a timely manner.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative medical care support.
- Participate in emergency response teams and Code Blue situations.
- Follow hospital policies, SOPs, and clinical guidelines strictly.
- Maintain infection control and patient safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families.
- Assist in medico-legal documentation when required.
- Participate in clinical audits, case discussions, and training programs.
- Maintain professionalism, ethics, and patient confidentiality.
- Stay updated with current medical practices and guidelines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by consultants or management.
