Job Description

Skilled Registrar / Senior Registrar - Obstetrics & Gynaecology responsible for managing women’s health, pregnancy-related care, gynecological conditions, and obstetric emergencies in hospital settings. Experienced in patient evaluation, antenatal and postnatal care, labor management, surgical assistance, and clinical decision-making. Adept at supporting consultants, handling critical maternal cases, ensuring patient safety, and delivering evidence-based obstetric and gynecological care to improve maternal and reproductive health outcomes.


Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage obstetric and gynecological patients.
  • Provide antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care to pregnant patients.
  • Monitor labor progress and assist in normal and complicated deliveries.
  • Manage gynecological disorders, infections, reproductive health issues, and emergencies.
  • Conduct patient examinations, clinical assessments, and medical history reviews.
  • Interpret laboratory reports, ultrasound findings, and diagnostic results.
  • Assist consultants in surgical procedures such as C-sections and gynecological surgeries.
  • Handle obstetric emergencies including pre-eclampsia, hemorrhage, and fetal distress.
  • Prescribe medications and treatment plans as per clinical protocols.
  • Coordinate with pediatricians, anesthetists, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, case notes, and clinical documentation.
  • Educate patients on maternal health, family planning, and reproductive wellness.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, infection control, and patient safety standards.
  • Participate in ward rounds, emergency calls, and clinical case discussions.
  • Support continuous learning, audits, and quality improvement initiatives in women’s healthcare.
