The Senior Resident General Surgery will provide surgical care support, inpatient and emergency surgical assistance, operative support, post-operative review, and patient care coordination at Fortis Hospitals, Mumbai. This requires MS or DNB General Surgery qualification with 1–5 years of experience in general surgery, surgery, senior resident work, and patient care.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients with surgical complaints in OPD, ward, emergency, OT, and post-operative areas.
- Assist senior surgeons and consultants in diagnosis, investigation planning, and treatment decisions.
- Support pre-operative preparation including report review, consent coordination, and surgical readiness.
- Assist during surgical procedures as per hospital protocol and clinical responsibility.
- Monitor post-operative patients for vitals, wound healing, pain, bleeding, infection, and recovery progress.
- Support emergency surgical assessment, trauma care, wound care, dressing, and urgent procedure coordination.
- Coordinate with OT, anaesthesia, ICU, nursing, radiology, laboratory, pharmacy, and billing teams.
- Maintain surgical case notes, consent records, operative notes, progress notes, and discharge documents.
- Guide junior doctors and nursing staff on surgical care instructions when required.
- Communicate patient updates to consultants and escalate critical findings immediately.
- Follow infection control, surgical safety, patient privacy, and hospital documentation standards.
- Ensure structured, safe, and patient-centered general surgery care.
