Senior Resident General Surgery

The Senior Resident General Surgery will manage surgical patient support, emergency surgical response, post-operative monitoring, procedure assistance, and consultant-led general surgery care at Fortis Hospitals, Hyderabad. This requires MS or DNB General Surgery qualification with 1–5 years of experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess surgical patients and support diagnosis, treatment planning, and procedure preparation.
• Assist consultants during ward rounds, surgical procedures, emergency calls, and patient reviews.
• Monitor post-operative patients for pain, vitals, wound condition, drains, bleeding, and recovery milestones.
• Support dressing, wound care, minor procedures, pre-operative preparation, and discharge planning.
• Review reports, imaging, medication response, and surgical progress notes regularly.
• Coordinate with OT, ICU, anaesthesia, nursing, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and billing teams.
• Maintain patient records, operative notes, consent forms, progress notes, and discharge documents.
• Manage emergency surgical referrals and ensure timely escalation to consultants.
• Communicate clearly with patients and attendants under senior guidance.
• Follow hospital protocols for surgical safety, infection control, patient safety, and documentation.
• Support quality care, ethical practice, and smooth surgical department workflow.
• Ensure safe and timely general surgery care delivery.
