The Dietician will provide nutrition assessment, diet counselling, therapeutic diet planning, patient education, healthcare nutrition support, and dietetics documentation at Fortis Hospitals, Mumbai, Vashi. This requires B.Sc or M.Sc Nutrition and Dietetics qualification and is suitable for freshers or candidates starting their dietetics career.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients nutritional status, diet history, lifestyle habits, diagnosis, and treatment requirements.
- Prepare diet plans for OPD, IPD, post-operative, diabetic, cardiac, renal, obesity, and general healthcare patients.
- Counsel patients and families regarding healthy eating, therapeutic diet, portion control, and lifestyle modification.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, kitchen, patient care, and clinical teams for patient diet requirements.
- Monitor patient diet compliance, food tolerance, nutritional improvement, and clinical progress.
- Maintain diet counselling records, nutrition assessment forms, diet charts, and patient follow-up notes.
- Support meal planning and ensure prescribed diet instructions are communicated clearly to kitchen or food service teams.
- Educate patients on disease-specific nutrition, weight management, hydration, and follow-up diet care.
- Identify nutrition risk, poor intake, food allergies, or special diet requirements and inform seniors promptly.
- Follow hospital dietetics protocols, food safety, hygiene, and patient confidentiality standards.
- Support health education, wellness counselling, and patient awareness activities when required.
- Deliver practical, safe, and patient-friendly nutrition counselling services.
