Dietician

Dietician is responsible for assessing patient nutritional needs, preparing diet plans, providing nutrition counselling, coordinating therapeutic diets, and supporting clinical care through dietary management. The requires B.Sc or M.Sc Nutrition & Dietetics qualification preferred with 1 to 2 years of experience. Candidates should have knowledge of nutrition, diet counselling, patient care, therapeutic diets, clinical diet planning, and hospital dietetics workflow.

Role & Responsibilities

• Assess patient nutritional requirements based on diagnosis, age, condition, and treatment plan.
• Prepare customized diet charts for OPD, IPD, post-operative, diabetic, cardiac, renal, and general patients.
• Provide diet counselling to patients and attendants with practical food guidance.
• Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and clinical teams for patient-specific dietary needs.
• Monitor patient response to prescribed diet plans and update recommendations when required.
• Support therapeutic diet planning for chronic illness, recovery, weight management, and special conditions.
• Maintain nutrition assessment notes, diet charts, counselling records, and follow-up documentation.
• Coordinate with kitchen or food service team for diet execution and meal quality.
• Ensure food safety, hygiene, and timely meal service for admitted patients.
• Educate patients about healthy eating, portion control, lifestyle changes, and follow-up nutrition care.
• Review diet compliance and provide practical guidance for home-based diet management.
• Support wellness programs, patient education, and dietary awareness initiatives.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient health and nutrition records.
• Follow hospital dietetics protocols, clinical documentation standards, and patient safety practices.
• Deliver evidence-based, compassionate, and patient-friendly nutrition care.
