CONSULTANT - Gastroenterology Job in Mumbai at Wockhardt Hospitals

Job Description

Experienced Consultant - Gastroenterology responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with gastrointestinal, liver, pancreatic, and digestive system disorders. Skilled in clinical evaluation, endoscopic procedures, disease management, and evidence-based treatment planning. Adept at providing specialized patient care, handling complex gastrointestinal cases, collaborating with multidisciplinary medical teams, and ensuring high clinical standards to improve patient outcomes and healthcare quality.


Roles & Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and manage patients with gastrointestinal and digestive system disorders.
  • Conduct detailed patient assessments, clinical examinations, and medical history reviews.
  • Interpret laboratory reports, imaging results, and gastroenterology diagnostic findings.
  • Perform or supervise endoscopic procedures such as upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy.
  • Develop treatment plans for acute and chronic gastrointestinal diseases.
  • Manage liver disorders, pancreatitis, ulcers, inflammatory bowel disease, and related conditions.
  • Prescribe medications and monitor patient response to treatment.
  • Provide emergency care for gastrointestinal bleeding and other critical GI conditions.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, dietitians, and nursing teams for comprehensive care.
  • Educate patients on disease prevention, diet management, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, treatment plans, and clinical documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, ethical standards, and healthcare regulations.
  • Participate in ward rounds, consultations, and multidisciplinary case discussions.
  • Stay updated with advancements in gastroenterology practices and treatment methods.
  • Support quality improvement and patient safety initiatives within the department.
